  3. The good that can be done when people work together in the way God calls them to.

A summary of the episode

Rev. Eddie Roberts discusses responding to God’s call, the importance of community, and how Covid-19 impacted his ministry.

Rev. begins by sharing his appreciation for his parents who were both educators. His dad died not too long after he was born, but Eddie learned a lot about him from seeing how loved he was by those who knew him. He admires his mother for raising two children on her own.

His journey into ministry took several twists and turns, but eventually, he found himself unable to avoid it. Eddie also shares how Covid-19 impacted his parish, how they adjusted to make sure that people’s needs were still met, and how they accommodated older people struggling with technology.

His example of serving others through his ministry provides a timely reminder for prioritizing what matters most.

[27:33] “When I think about legacy, to me it means something that will outlive you, something that you will be remembered for. And when I think about aging with purpose, to me that means, what am I doing to not only impact this particular generation but then also the next."
